Digital MPP was launched by Kamalmani Dixit, Chairman of Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya (MPP). Digital MPP is an initiative of Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya for the preservation of its collection in digital medium to make them more accessible to the users through reading room facilities and website. In this first phase of Digital MPP, about 7,000 images are being made available. One half of the selected images come from the old and rare image collection of MPP and the other half comprises of negatives from the collection of Madanmani Dixit. In the launching ceremony, Madan Mani Dixit, well known litterateur, photographer and journalist, and Vinaya Kumar Kasajoo, journalist and author, were honoured for their contribution to collection at MPP. Online Contemporary Nepali Dictionary Launched |

A contemporary Nepali Dictionary is released on the 11th December at Yala maya Kendra Patan Dhoka. The dictionary was launched by Honorable Minister Pradip Nepal, Ministry of Education and Sports. It is corpus dictioary developed under the Bhasha Sanchar Project in the MPP. The dictionary contains around 8,000 words with contextual meaning and examples. It can be accessed online using the URL www.nepalisabdakos.com Besides the dictionary, other softwares like dictionary compilation software, nepali Text-To-Speech were also launched on the day. All these software can be available at Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya without any cost though the CDs have to be brought by person who need it. |
